Marae trip
First we waited for the bus to get here so we could go to the marae.
Next we got there, then we got welcomed on.
After that we went inside and they talked to us. Then we had a biscuit and juice. We talked about the world. We all had morning tea. Then we all played on the hills and the playground. On the playground there was a slide, a bridge and a climbing thing. I rolled down the hill with Cassey we were holding hands. Then we were lining up outside to go inside quietly then we did our mihi. This is my mihi.
Tena koto tena koto tena koto katoa.
ko aoraki te monga
ko waimakariri te awa
ko gilberthorpe te kura
ko Paul toko matoa
ko Jo toko whaea
ko fraser tako inga farnow
ko Eliza toko inga
no rara
tena koto tena koto tena koto katoa.
That was my mhih. Then it was nearly lunch time.We went to church we looked at the graves then they opened the church door. Then we walked back to the marae and sang a song to them then they sang one to us and we sang all together. We waited for the bus to get there and we were late back to school. I loved it.
